Day 1: Day 1 Arrival 2 nd Sept

Day 2: Armazi – Didgori 3 rd Sept

We start our bike tour with a transfer to the Armazi, the old capital of Georgia before
Christianity. Following tarmac through local villages we eventually turn off the road onto a newly
laid asphalt road taking us up into the mountains eventually leading us to the monument of the
battle of didgori, a legendary battle that had the Georgian force of 5000 pitted against an
invading force of 50,000. The Georgian side claimed victory slaughtering the invading forces
and so began the “golden period” of Georgia which saw the unification of the kingdoms for the
next 300 years. After lunch we carry on climbing to a ridge line we follow with spectacular views
of the high Caucasus before descending into the village of didgori. Here guests can choose to
ride onward to Tbilisi.

Day 3: Tsalka – Lake Paravani 4 th Sept

We start early today after breakfast at 7 am with a transfer to the town of tsalka in the
Samtskhe- Javakheti region of Georgia. We follow village roads on broken asphalt and dirt jeep
track through wide open countryside over rolling hills eventually following the shoreline of Lake
Paravani which is inhabited by semi nomadic Turkish shepherds. After a lunch of local dishes
we set off toward our evenings camp on the far side of the lake where our camp for the night will
be set up in the shadow of ancient volcanic mountains, ready for us to relax with a well earned
massage and evening meal under a star filled sky.

Day 4: Lake Paravani – Borjomi 5 th Sept

With another early start and after our warm up ride the day before, today we have an epic day’s
climbing and descending through Borjomi national park via the passes and mountains of
Bakuriani taking in forest climbs, dirt road descents and broken asphalt running through rolling
hills. We arrive in the spring town of Borgomi late afternoon where we can enjoy the open air
spring baths and a massage before relaxing in the Crown Plaza Borjomi.

Day 5: Borjomi – transfer to Kutaisi - Rabati, Akhaltsikhe 6 th Sept

Fully refreshed from our stay in Borjomi we head off for an epic day of climbing, that takes us
deeper into the forests of Borgomi nature reserve, with 3100 m of climbing on dirt roads we are
rewarded with a total descent of 3100m eventually hitting asphalt for the last 20kms into our
overnight stay at the magnificent Rabati Castle, a 9th Century fortress restored to its original
design.

Day 6: Rabati – Shuakhevi 7 th Sept

We now ride toward the the Goderdzi pass heading toward Adjara region on dirt and gravel
roads with a morning climb of around 2300 metres. Riding through beautiful pine covered
mountains, small villages and past ancient churches and bridges we eventually reach the pass
and stop for lunch with amazing views of East and West Georgia. After lunch we have a long
and satisfying descent of 2600m all the way to our campsite for the night in the mountains
above Khulo.

Day 7: Shuakhevi – Batumi 8 th Sept

We start the day with an epic descent out of the mountains dropping 1750m following the Coruh
River through the valleys of Western Georgia out onto the plains of Adjara and onward with a
final dash to the coast all on asphalt. Reaching Batumi in the afternoon there’ll be time for a dip
in the Black Sea before retreating to our hotel for the night.
