“Can you describe the riding (and be honest) in Georgia?” came the question from a well-known Mountain bike magazine editor this week when we invited them over to The Republic of Georgia. Good question, can I?
Situated between Europe and Asia, Georgia is a truly hidden gem for nature lovers. Georgia is bordered by four countries: Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey. On a whirlwind of a trip, I ventured into the four areas in which one can explore the hiking trails of the Caucasus Mountains - Svaneti, Kazbegi, Tusheti and Lagodekhi.
The Mogzauri Rent Team just returned from a late-winter expedition to Svaneti, an isolated, high-elevation region located in Northwest Georgia. Our mission was to scout out the best new ski touring routes in this spectacular part of the world. We succeeded in our goal and had a blast doing so. Here is a quick recap of some of the highlights.
